“SKIMT MAGNATE 2023” was organized in the hybrid mode facilitating both offline and online participation of students. The meet was inaugurated by Mr.JaisinhVaerkar, CII Chairman of Madurai Zone and Managing Partner of Peninsular Export Company who has designed and launched spices mix in the name and style of Thillais Masala and Masala Chef. In his inaugural address he highlighted that the world today is facing a lot of sustainability issues and elaborated on the concept of VUCA- Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity and insisted the participants to embrace change, have regular reviews to monitor uncertainty, Communicate clearly to overcome complexity and perform tests to understand ambiguous information. The Inter-collegiate meet comprised of a blend of activities and events such as Business Quiz, Business Plan, Best Manager, Corporate walk, Ad-act, Paper Presentation and Poster Making that enabled both the studious and smart students to express themselves.249 students representing 14 Institutions participated in the meet.

SKIMT MAGNATE 2022 - 21 st April 2022

         To facilitate the participation of students from a wide geographical area and to overcome the issues of transportation in this post pandemic situation, Online Meet was organised. Around 400 students representing 20 colleges across Tamilnadu actively took part in the events conducted.
         Mr.S.Mohan, Vice President, Madras Management Association- Salem Chapter, a renowned corporate trainer was the resource person. The Chief guest in his inaugural address insisted the younger generation to come out of their laziness, avoid procrastinating and assume responsibility for their actions. Younger generation should update their skills and knowledge and remain competitive so as to land on a good job or career.
        Four events were conducted online. In the Paper presentation competition, 42 teams presented their papers on various titles including- Secular World,Impact of war on Global Economy,Education in the New Normal, Innovations & Life, Business in the New Normal and Immunity & Healthy Life Style Practices.26 teams presented their Business ideas in the Business Plan Contest. 8 teams had participated in the Ad-Zap contest by uploading and presenting their Advertisements based on the products - Smart Watch, E-bike, Hair dye, Smart Shoe, Digital Locks, Organic Biscuits, Green Crackers, Mosquito Repellent, Mobile Network Operators and Banks. Online General Quiz competition attracted quite a number of participants. 132 participants participated in the first preliminary round. Top 20 participants were taken for the second round of prelims. Finally five contestants were selected for the Quiz Finals.

Conferences, seminars and workshops are a regular feature at the campus.
