|Description||INTER COLLEGIATE MEET - SKIMT MAGNATE 2021 ON 3RD MARCH 2021|
Sri Kaliswari Institute of Management and Technology, Sivakasi organised an Online Intercollegiate Meet “SKIMT MAGNATE 2K21” on 3rdMarch 2021. The event has been organised consistently year after year so that the students develop essential skills such as planning, teamwork, leadership, and multi-tasking from organizing events. Though Covid pandemic has challenged the conduct of Inter-collegiate events in person, to engage students and prepare them for the real world, Online E Meet was organised for the benefit of the students. Around 410 students representing 13 colleges actively took part in the events conducted.
Dr.P.S.Valarmathy, Director, SKIMT welcomed the gathering. Mrs.P.S.Krishnasudha, Assistant Professor, SKIMT introduced the chief guest Mr.S.Sivasubramanian, Business Strategist and Founder- Director, SAS Strategies First, Chennai. The Chief guest in his inaugural address emphasized that there is absolutely no substitute for hard work to be successful in real life. Younger generation should understand that they are the masters of their destiny and a strong mental transformation is needed to decide and pursue a goal. Having an open mind facilitates learning and lead to excellence. Students need to set a goal with values which are sustainable and utilize time as their greatest resource.
Four events were conducted online. In the Paper presentation competition, 32 teams presented their papers on various titles including- The world after Covid-19 pandemic, The Farm Bill 2020, India’s New Education Policy 2020, Solar Energy: Future of Power, Industrial Revolution 4.0, Artificial Intelligence: Boon or Bane for Businesses, FDI in Retail in India. 14 teams presented their Business ideas in the Business Plan Contest. 34 contestants had participated in the photo contest by uploading and presenting their photos based on the themes -Pollution free Environment, Home Town Pride, Heritage & Culture, Human Impact on Environment, Conserve Nature, Bio-Diversity.
Online General Quiz competition attracted quite a number of participants. 185 teams participated in the first preliminary round. Top ten teams were taken for the second round of prelims. Finally five teams were selected for the Quiz Finals which included rounds like Personality Identification, Social Media Trends, Lateral Thinking and riddles, Identification of Advertisement and Connection.
I, II and III prizes were announced for all the four events. E certificates were provided for all the participants. Mr.T.Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor, SKIMT proposed vote of thanks.
